When you work hard to organize an event, you want people to show up for it. Especially if it’s your annual fundraiser. The Suicide Prevention Collaborative in Woodbury, MN puts together a 5K in the community that not only raises much needed funds for its teen-suicide prevention programming, but also helps spread awareness that this passionate organization is available to help.
A consistent and targeted publicity campaign was necessary to draw more participants to the annual Saturday morning event, in addition to raising general awareness in the community about this valuable resource.
To accomplish this, we paired strategic communication with dynamic event photography while leveraging our relationships with media outlets.
The SPC “Together It Gets Better” fun run earned media coverage both before and after the event. With its highest turn out yet, the SPC continues to grow its annual event while expanding the public’s knowledge of this non-profit organization and its services for life-saving teen programming across the community.
