Trying to decide if rebranding is what your business needs?

A rebrand is a market strategy of giving a new name, symbol, or change in design for an already-established brand. The idea behind rebranding is to create a different identity for a brand, from its competitors, in the market. It can have many benefits but can also be risky. So if you plan to rebrand, it is crucial that you know the reason behind it.

Here are some common reasons why you might need to rebrand:

You are seeking a new audience

If your target audience has changed or you are wanting to reach a new audience, then a rebrand maybe the right move because everyone has different needs and are attracted to products and services in different ways. Therefore, your messaging and branding need to appeal to that specific audience. This doesn’t necessarily mean a complete overhaul. It may just be a matter of changing how you communicate to that new audience.

Your brand is outdated

Has your business evolved but your logo has remained the same since it was created in the 90’s, 80’s? A lot of business see their brand as “set it and forget it”. As a business changes, their customers change as well.  And your brand also needs to adapt to those changes otherwise it will suffer.

You need to stand out

Are you tired of trying to keep up with the competition? Do you feel your brand is diluted? There is so much out there for people to choose from. Now more than ever, it is very important to stand out and differentiate your business. Rebranding is a way to reposition your brand in the marketplace to be unique and appealing. So give your audience a reason to choose you over the competition.

Your brand is over-complicated

Is your messaging confusing to your audience? Are your offerings too complex? People don’t want to put forth more effort to try to process what it is that you do. Keep it simple and straight to the point. As your brand needs to communicate in a way that resonates quickly with your target audience, otherwise it will create confusion and mistrust.

You are embarrassed

We see this a lot where businesses are embarrassed to send customers to their website or hand out their business card. If this is how you feel, it’s probably time for a rebrand. You want to create a brand that represents who you are and who you serve. This will give you confidence, and you can be proud to share your business with the world.

You are ready to make a big change

Your start up goals created in the beginning stages of your business are not always the same five years down the road. Especially when you consider changes in technology, potential new products or services, or changes in the marketplace. As your business changes, your brand needs to adapt too and align with those changes.

If you can relate to any of these reasons, then it maybe time for you to make a change. Determine whether your brand needs a partial or total overhaul and then get professional help to guide you through the process.
